Jhonatan
I sponsor a young boy in Colombia, South America. His name is Jhonatan Berrio. I have been sponsoring him for four years. Johonatan is now 10 years old. He is in the 5th grade. His parents were not married when he was born. His mother left after his birth. His dad tries supporting him, but is frequently in and out of the picture. Jhonatan lives with his Grandmother, who is his legal guardian. He enjoys drawing, singing, and playing soccer.
Jhonatan lives on the plains of Barrio El Pinar, in the northwest region of the city Sincelejo. His house consists of a dirt floor and a roof made of palm leaves. Common health problems in his village include influenza, diarrhea, parasites, denque fever, malnutrition, and anemia. His village is surrounded by AIDS-infected areas. Most adults in this village are unemployed. Those who do find work earn the equivalent of $127 a month. Jhonatan's chores and house duties include washing clothes, running errands, making beds, and cleaning; he takes all of these chores very seriously.
What Does It Mean To Sponsor?
Being a sponsor is incredibly simple and easy, when considering the incredible impact it makes in areas of the world that are normally never on your mind. Being a sponsor literally requires around $1.00 a day ($38 a month). That small amount of money helps save lives by covering such things as:
Education School supplies Food for the entire family Necessary medication and vaccines Clothes/Shoes Toys and gifts for holidays (birthdays, christmas, etc...) And so much more...
Make The Decision
Please pray and ponder in your heart how a few dollars out of your wallet can save the lives of children and families all over the world. Please visit www.compassion.com for more information. I am not a paid spokesperson for the organization. I simply help promote Compassion because I have experienced for myself the incredible work this program does. Please consider sponsoring a child. God bless.
