At the age of 27, Matthew Hodge is already an award-winning composer, musician, director, and teacher. He has been featured in over 50 media outlets, including national television and national radio. His music has been sold/performed in 33 states, as well as in 19 countries that span the five continents of North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He is a professional member of four national music organizations, and has worked with Grammy and Emmy award-winning professionals. He has also ranked multiple times in national music contests as both a songwriter and a musician. Matthew holds a Masters of Arts in Music degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Theory and Composition degree (double emphasis in composition and piano). He is currently earning a Master of Fine Arts in Music Composition degree (emphasis in music for film and television), and will complete the degree in 2014. Matthew currently teaches full-time at Campbellsville University, located in Campbellsville, KY. He teaches courses in music and musical theatre, as well as directs and composes for University singing groups. He also works professionally as a pianist, composer, and lecturer. In the last five years, Matthew has recorded and produced over a dozen CDs in Nashville, TN, and recently produced music with Grammy-award recipients in Los Angeles. His music has appeared on iTunes, Amazon.com, Rhapsody, Napster, and Zune. In 2009 the Gospel Music Association ranked him as one of the top 10 instrumentalists in the country. In 2010 Matthew was interviewed live on Fox & Friends (the #1 cable morning show in the country). In 2011 Radio Disney aired a 30 minute interview with Matthew, profiling him as an "upcoming talent and role model for young people." As a proud Kentuckian, Matthew has been honored by The KY Senate, the KY House of Representatives, the Mayor of Louisville, Louisville’s Metro Council, and Kentucky State Magazine. As a musical entrepreneur, he has built and ran three professional music websites, which average 5,000 monthly hits and have served over 400 professional clients. As a special guest speaker/leader, Matt has also worked with University of Kentucky, Academy of Creative Excellence, Centre College, Bellarmine University, Lindsey Wilson College, Kentucky Theatre Conservatory, Kentucky Classic Arts, and 48 Hour Theater Project. As a professional in the musical theatre world, Matt has served as music director for over a dozen productions. He has also held positions as director, composer, lyricist, writer, musician, and performer. He has served in leadership on productions with ACE Broadway Bound, KTC Summerfest, Ragged Edge Theater, and multiple Universities. A few of his favorite past productions include Thoroughly Modern Mille, Hairspray, Who's Bad?, Legally Blonde: The Musical, and Little Shop of Horrors. Besides his work, Matthew is incredibly active with multiple local and national charitable organizations that work to raise awareness and funding for various issues.
